A Pokemon Power of Us movie release date has finally been confirmed for the US, and it’s something of an early Christmas gift for Pokemon fans new and old. Announced through the official Pokemon website, the Pokemon Power of Us movie release date is set for late November, with the limited release taking place over two weekends.
The Pokemon Power of Us movie release date is spread across eight days, meaning Pokemon fans will have Saturday (November 24), Monday, Wednesday, and the following Saturday to catch the new movie before it’s too late, with the final day of its limited-time run being December 1.
Working in partnership with Fathom Events to stage the event, you’ll have to check out the Fathom Events website to look up participating theatres near you and order tickets. Each screening will run the English dub of the film as opposed to the original Japanese version. Current dates and purchase options are limited to the US only, with a worldwide release yet to be announced.
Pokemon the Movie: The Power of Us is the second film of the Pokemon movie reboot series, a direct sequel to last year’s Pokemon the Movie: I Choose You!, and the 21st Pokemon movie to release over the franchise’s 20+ year existence. The film released in Japan in mid-July. The official Power of Us name is likely a reference to the English-language Power of One title given to the original second Pokemon movie, Pokemon: The Movie 2000, outside of Japan. The two movies share similarities in that the legendary Pokemon Lugia plays a major role.
Unlike the original second Pokemon movie, Pokemon: The Movie 2000, Pokemon the Movie: The Power of Us features an all-new storyline separate from the mainline Pokemon TV anime and features the final Gen 8 Pokemon, Zeraora. In it, Ash travels to Fura City to celebrate its traditional Wind Festival and meets several new characters during his stay.
