New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe Announced at Nintendo Direct

New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe is coming to Nintendo Switch. This enhanced port of the hit Wii U titles was announced at today’s Nintendo Direct and will bring all the content from the original games and new features as well.

Some people accuse the Switch of being a port machine—I can’t say I haven’t been one of them at times—but, man, I love me some enhanced ports of Nintendo games. The poor Wii U had some absolutely fantastic games that didn’t get the recognition they deserved when they first came out, so I’m ecstatic to see titles like New Super Mario Bros U get another chance at life.

New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe bundles New Super Mario Bros U and New Super Luigi U into one package that contains all the courses from both games. Two new characters will be included in the deluxe port: Toadette and Nabbit. Toadette can transform into Peachette (think small Peach) and use the familiar float ability that is Peach’s signature. Nabbit’s unique ability is that they don’t take damage at all.

We even got a release date for New Super Mario Bros U during the Nintendo Direct. The title will be releasing on Switch on 1/11/19, making this January an even more jam-packed month full of good games.
