Overwatch League News: Atlanta Announces Staff

The new Atlanta Overwatch League team has announced the first five members of its staff, including its head coach. Atlanta joined the Overwatch League’s roster alongside Guangzhou on August 2, making it one of the first new teams to join ahead of Season 2. Since then, six more teams have been added, bringing the League’s total number of teams up to 20.

A report from DBLTAP has listed five people who have joined Atlanta’s staff. The first of these is Brad “Sephy” Rajani, who has joined Atlanta as head coach. Sephy rose to prominence after coaching the successful Selfless Gaming team, before joining the Overwatch League as San Francisco Shock’s head coach. From there, he spent some time with Contenders team Last Night’s Leftovers which he left in order to manage Atlanta.

Sephy will be joined at Atlanta by his Last Night’s Leftovers assistant coach, Dimitri “Silence” Couturet. On top of the announcement of their head coach and assistant coach, Atlanta has announced three more additions to its staff. These include former One.PoinT player development coach Cas “Casores” van Andel, former commentator and analyst Danny “Danny” Mychakov, and translator Dongmin “Dongmin” Jeong.

Although Atlanta has announced that these five staff positions have been filled, there is no other information on the team at present. Atlanta Esports Ventures has not yet revealed what they plan to call their Overwatch League team, nor has it revealed any information as to its player roster. The signing window is currently open to new teams, so news of players being signed to Atlanta, as well as the seven other new teams, will likely come in over the coming weeks.

The wider signing window, which will be open to Season 1 teams as well as new teams, opens on October 1. It is likely that the active rosters of new teams will be in place by then.
