warhammer Vermintide 2 best games 2018

Vermintide 2 Free Weekend Starts Today Until Monday

A Warhammer Vermintide 2 free weekend kicks off today, and you have a good three-to-four days to try out the popular sequel to see if it can tear you and your squad away from your current go-to multiplayer game. The best thing about it? It won’t cost you a cent. Released earlier this year, this sequel to the first game in the franchise, Warhammer Vermintide 2 already has more user reviews on Steam than what came before.

If you came into this article hoping for a reason to fire up your PS4 this weekend, you’re in for a bit of bad news. The currently active Vermintide 2 free weekend is for Xbox One and PC players only, with the PC version also boasting the Shadows Over Bogenhafen DLC. The success of one could lead to a broader rollout of the Vermintide 2 free weekend for other platforms. That’s purely speculation on our end, though.

Thinking about getting involved?  The Vermintide 2 free weekend isn’t quite active yet. All we know for is that it’s set to kick off on August 30 and last until September 3, so waiting for the usual Steam Store daily update is probably a good plan. And no, there’s no pre-load.

Not sure what the Vermintide 2 free weekend is all about? Warhammer Vermintide 2 is a first-person co-op action game set in the Warhammer universe. Just like the prequel, it’s mostly about bringing a group of friends to do battle against hordes of enemies. Think of it as a fantasy take on games like Left 4 Dead and you’re on the right track. Just expect far more RPG elements.

Once the Vermintide free weekend goes live, expect to see a big banner ad on the front page of the Xbox Steam Store. You’ll have until that same time on September 3 to enjoy the game for free. If you want to continue playing from there, there’s a 50% discount available throughout the Vermintide 2 free weekend.
