Rumor: New Xbox One Bundle to Include Free Xbox Live and Game Pass

Microsoft has been rumored to be making a new Xbox One bundle that will include free Xbox Live as well as free Game Pass along with the console. This assortment is rumored to be called the Xbox All Access service and will reportedly cost consumers $34.99 per month over a period of 24 months.

As originally reported on by The Verge, this new Xbox One bundle will include either an Xbox One X or Xbox One S under a subscription. With the consoles, consumers will also have access to Xbox Live, as well as Microsoft’s game subscription service Game Pass. The latter of the two allows consumers to access a catalog of games they can download and play, as long as they are subscribed to the service. This codenamed ‘Project Largo’ subscription service is currently rumored to only be accessible to US customers and only from Microsoft’s online store.

The Xbox One X version of the bundle, as mentioned before, will cost $34.99 per month. But IGN reports that the Xbox One S version of the subscription will be $22.00 per month. Both plans will require the subscriber to commit to the plan for two years. After that point, however, they fully own the consoles and can keep them.

Microsoft is rumored to be announcing this new Xbox One bundle later this month, though it did not announce anything at Gamescom 2018 to avoid any suggestion that the service will be coming to the European market. This is because, as of now, it will only be offered in the U.S. market. There is no indication at the moment if consumers will need to make new Xbox Live and Game Pass subscriptions after the two year period has ended. This does suggest, however, that Microsoft may have interest in bundling Xbox Live and Game Pass into one subscription, which could be a sensible move by the tech giant.
