Hitman 2 to Include Remastered Hitman 2016 Levels

In their latest intel drop, IO Interactive has announced that Hitman 2 will include remastered versions of all the Hitman 2016 levels as DLC. If you own the original Hitman Season 1, then this DLC will be free. All of the levels will come with updated graphics, improved crowds, and you’ll be able to make use of all the new tools and mechanics coming in the sequel.

IO Interactive is continuing to knock it out of the park with updates and information on their upcoming game, Hitman 2. It’ll be the first Hitman game released since the studio parted ways with Square Enix, an amicable split that left IO with the rights to the Hitman franchise. Now being published by Warner Bros Interactive, the latest nugget of info revealed that Hitman 2 will feature remastered versions of all of the levels from the Hitman 2016 game, Hitman Season 1, with shiny new graphics and all of the new mechanics implemented.

Not only is this generally quite a positive move for those who missed out on Hitman Season 1 in 2016, but it should also provide a fresh new experience to players who already have played it. All of the new features coming in Hitman 2 will be able to be utilised in all of the old content, showcased in the video posted to IO Interactive’s Twitter. You can blend into the crowd Assassins Creed-style at the Paris fashion show, smuggle a sniper rifle past guards in Sapienza, and do a whole lot more with stun grenades, improved combat AI, and so on.

As well as all of this content for Hitman 2, IO has also confirmed that it’ll be working on new updates for the game mode, Hitman: Sniper Assassin, adding new levels alongside the main game. IO has also said that from this point onwards, all Hitman content will be released using Hitman 2 as a platform, transforming a once-episodic game into a live service of sorts. Hitman 2 will be releasing on November 13 later this year.
