H1Z1 Battle Royale PS4 Leaving Open Beta and Officially Launching Next Month

Daybreak Games has finally announced that H1Z1 Battle Royale will be leaving open beta for the PS4 soon. It has been in open beta since May 22, 2018. After more than two months, it will officially launch for the PS4 on August 7, 2018. H1Z1 has proved to be one of the more well-received battle royale games this year, besides Fortnite and PUBG, that is. In celebration of the game’s official launch next month, it will be receiving several new features.

According to PlayStation Blog, the official launch of H1Z1 Battle Royale PS4 will bring two new weapons to the game, which includes the RPG and SOCOM semi-automatic sniper rifle. These will each be especially useful in gameplay, as the RPG can be used against enemy vehicles and the SOCOM works as an excellent long-range weapon. A new vehicle, the ARV, will also be added next month, and it can fit five players. The top of the ARV has a hatch which can be opened to position a shooter.

Additionally, the Battle Pass Season 1 will be made available at launch. It will provide three reward lines, comprising of free, premium and PS Plus. There will be 30 reward tiers to unlock by earning XP through gameplay or in-game purchases. The premium package will cost $5.49 while the PS Plus subscribers will receive the PS Plus reward line for free. Two new bundles have also been added to the game. The Viper Starter bundle and Hardline Deluxe bundle costs $4.99 and $34.99, respectively.

There’s no doubt that H1Z1 Battle Royale on the PS4 will be a massive hit. The open beta alone garnered over ten million players over the course of one month. That was an incredible feat for a game released on a single console. At the time of the writing, we have had no confirmation on when the Xbox One version would be releasing.
