Overwatch will be getting Nerf guns soon! Starting in 2019, the Nerf Rival line of the brand will start making Overwatch themed blasters. The first of which, announced in the tweet below, will be based on Reaper’s Hellfire Shotguns.

The toy will be able to shoot eight rounds at a time and will be able to shoot them up to 90 feet per second. The toy also has a spring-action mechanism, a ready indicator, and a safety lock. It is interesting to see that the blasters are colored white rather than a game accurate black. However, one can safely assume that Hasbro would want the blaster to look realistic than the in-game model.
Rather than the usual nerf darts, the Rival line uses ball like rounds and tend to be more powerful than the usual Nerf guns that are sold. It makes sense that the Overwatch Nerf guns are part of this line considering the fact that the game is skewed towards an older audience. So you can be assured that Reaper’s Nerf guns will be as cool as you want them to be.
It is exciting to see this since this is an official as possible prop version of Reaper’s weapons since it will make it easier for cosplayers to dress up as their favorite Overwatch characters. On top of that this opens up opportunities for other Overwatch nerf guns! Wouldn’t it be great to see blasters based on Hanzo’s bow, Tracer’s guns or even something as large as Zarya’s minigun?
But what do you all think? Do you think these nerf guns are going to be a blast? Or do you think that they will be a misfire? Sound off in the comments below!
