Recent job listings for Bluepoint Games, the team behind the Shadow of the Colossus remake, have stated that the studio is working on another classic remake for current-gen and next-gen video game systems. These job listings have got tongues wagging, with players wondering what game could Bluepoint Games be remaking next.
The job listings were posted on ArtStation and Bluepoint are looking for people with skills in different areas of game development. Bluepoint Games have nine job openings available, Senior 3D Environment Artist, a Lead 3D Character Artist, Material Technical Artist, a Rigger, a Senior Animator, a Technical Animator, a Senior Technical Artist, Substance Material Artist and a Lead 3D Animator.
Bluepoint Games is a small studio located in Austin, Texas. With the studio hiring several people in key positions, development on the next remake may be ramping up soon. The studio’s next game will be a current-gen and next-gen title, as indicated by the listing: “Our team is passionately remaking a classic for current- and next-gen game systems,” it reads. “Want to be part of making something special?”
As you’d expect, members of the gaming community have found out about these job listings and are now speculating what the next remake by Bluepoint could be. Many are hoping that the studio is working on a remake of From Software’s Demon’s Souls which originally released in 2009. Earlier this year this year the online servers for Demon’s Souls were shut down. There are several other games that people are speculating what Bluepoint Games’ next remake could be, including a Metal Gear Solid remake, which has been requested by MGS fans for years.
However, we currently do not know which game Bluepoint Games is remaking next. For now, this is just speculation. Bluepoint’s latest remake was the PS2 classic Shadow of the Colossus, which was positively received by critics and fans.
