The Binding of Isaac Four Souls

The Binding of Isaac Four Souls Kickstarter Campaign Exceeds $1 Million in One Week

Although The Binding of Isaac Four Souls wasn’t exactly what players of the original game wanted, it’s now definitely clear that there’s more than enough demand for the card game based on the popular indie game. It has managed to raise a whopping $1.1 million after the span of only one week since the campaign started. If that’s not impressive enough, it has 16 days to go before the Kickstarter campaign actually ends.

According to the Kickstarter page for The Binding of Isaac Four Souls, the card game has accumulated over more than sixteen thousand backers. Original game designer Edmund McMillen initially set the pledged target at $50,000. That target was already accomplished in less than two hours after the Kickstarter launched. The game is described as “the official Binding of Isaac multiplayer card game, about sacrifice, betrayal, and hoarding.” That must be what appealed to fans in the first place.

The team behind the card game also announced the milestone in a recent update and revealed that a unique semi-transparent Stained Glass Sticker will now be included in all game boxes. The basic set of the card game will include one rulebook, four character cards, four starting item cards, one six and one eight-sided dice, 100 loot cards, 100 monster cards, 100 treasure cards and 100 pennies. That’s certainly a lot of stuff to fit in one box.

The Binding of Isaac Four Souls will be authentic to the original game in the sense that it will be randomized each time you play. Players will need to kill monsters and claim the loot. The winner of the card game will be the player who ends their turn with four souls, which can be achieved by defeating the four bosses. The game is slated to be delivered in November 2018, which is only a few months away. In the meantime, fans should replay the original game in anticipation for the upcoming card game and check out the trailer below.
