Shenmue 3 is one of the most highly-requested sequels in gaming. Last month, it was revealed that the highly-anticipated game has been delayed to 2019. Well, that should give gamers time to purchase additional storage or clear some space, because it looks like they’ll really need it. The Shenmue 3 PC specs have been officially announced, and it reveals a massive download size, around a whopping 100GB to be exact.
Shenmue 3: PC Specs Reveal Massive Download Size
As pointed out by GameSpot, that’s considerably more than the size of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim combined. The former required about 35GB and the latter only 12GB. It makes us wonder why the game would need that much storage space. Is it destined to be the biggest open-world game ever made? Check out the minimum system requirements for the PC version of Shenmue 3 below.
- OS: Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 (64-bit OS Required)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-4460 (3.40 GHz) or better; Quad-core or better
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti or better (DirectX 11 card & VRAM 2GB Required)
- DirectX: Version 11
- Network: Broadband internet connection
- Storage: 100 GB available space
- Sound card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

Additional updates about the upcoming game from its Kickstarter page include the ability to choose which platform version backers would like to receive when it eventually releases. It also reveals a new battle system feature dubbed AI Battling. The new control system will be introduced in Shenmue 3, allowing players to automatically unleash the perfect technique in response to the opponent’s positioning and distance. This is being developed to cater to players who are not used to fighting games or those who wish to immerse themselves in battles.
No official release date has been revealed at the time of writing. Publisher Deep Silver and developer Ys Net have delayed the game to 2019 in order “to polish the quality of the game even further, to the high standards it deserves and release the product in the best possible timeframe.” The game was initially announced at E3 2015.
