Arena of Valor E3 2018

Arena of Valor Playoffs to Be Held at E3 2018 as Tencent Makes Its First Ever E3 Appearance

One of the world’s biggest game publisher and developer will be making its debut appearance at E3 2018. Tencent owns League of Legends developer Riot Games, as well as developing the mobile version of PUBG and other highly-successful mobile games like Arena of Valor and Clash of Clans. It will be hosting its Arena of Valor playoffs at the E3 ESL Arena on June 12th and 13th, 2018.

The Arena of Valor playoffs is part of the ongoing Valor Series eSports tournament, which will see best North American and European teams competing with each other. The winners of the playoffs will make it to the upcoming Arena of Valor World Cup, which takes places in Los Angeles in July. The prize money for the tournament is worth $550,000.

As reported by Variety, Tencent America Director of eSports Ramon Hermann said: “Tencent is committed to supporting and growing the mobile esports community by leveraging structured esports competition on both a local and large scale. The Valor Series playoffs showcase the absolute best in mobile esports, as ‘Arena of Valor’ offers gamers a fast-paced, competitive multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) experience without compromise, especially if you’re playing on gaming-inspired Razer hardware.”

Arena of Valor E3 2018: Most Profitable Mobile Game

Arena of Valor was initially released on Android and iOS platforms in late 2017. However, it has been available in China since 2015, under the name Honor of Kings. It was the most profitable game in the first quarter of 2018 and even managed to beat the most downloaded game, which was PUBG Mobile. Both of these games made Tencent the number one mobile games publisher in the world in regards to game revenue and game downloads.

The Arena of Valor playoffs will be streamed live on the official Arena of Valor Twitch channel. Mobile games are slowly but surely taking over the games industry and we have the statistics to prove it. For the first time ever in the history of video games, half of the revenue for the entire industry will be derived from games on mobile platforms. The future of video games looks to be on mobile.
