Electronic Arts and BioWare announced a little while back that Star Wars: The Old Republic would be going free-to-play, but we still have yet to hear from them when exactly this change will be put into effect. When it eventually does roll out, the developer plans keep a payment option open for those who wish to have the full experience, but gamers looking for some fun without the monthly commitment will still have plenty of content to chew on.
On the game's official page, BioWare has detailed what non-subscribers will be able to enjoy. They'll have full access to play through the story content and level their character up to 50. After that however, the limitations begin to set in. Players will have limited character creation options, be required to obtain a weekly pass to get in on Operations, be able to play three Warzone matches per week (unless they purchase a weekly pass), and more.
