Dragon Ball FighterZ Update 1.11 Patch Notes Post-Evo 2018

New Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters Get Trailer

Bandai Namco has released a trailer for some new Dragon Ball FighterZ characters that’ll be coming to the game tomorrow. Vegito (SSGSS) and Zamasu (Fused) will be available standalone, or as part of the FighterZ pass which includes a total of 8 characters. They’ve come as part of the Battle of Fusions DLC.

I’ll now explain the two characters… bear with me. Zamasu (Fused) is a fusion born from Goku Black, who is the original present-time Zamasu in the original present-time Goku’s body, and Zamasu from the future which is possible through earrings called the Potara which allow wearers to use Time Rings, which allow wearers to travel through time. Vegito (SSGSS) is a fusion of Goku and Vegeta, who has entered the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (SSGSS) form, also called Super Saiyan Blue.

For Dragon Ball Z fans (I am no such fan) especially those who have watched Dragon Ball Super and the “Future” Trunks Saga, this will probably make a lot of sense and I suspect will be quite exciting to hear. From purely a design perspective, both characters look epic and formidable, and as someone whose knowledge of Dragon Ball Z extends so far as “people’s hair changes colour when they get more powerful,” I can at least assume that both of these characters pack quite the punch.

The trailer is certainly a visual spectacle, though that’s in large part due to the polished aesthetic design of Dragon Ball FighterZ which has managed to very effectively capture 2D characters in a 3D space without it looking a little uncanny valley. And many agree, with the game having ‘Very Positive’ reviews on Steam and both critical and consumer praise according to its average Metacritic score of above 80/8.0.

You can grab the game on Steam, Xbox One and PS4 if you haven’t already, and you’ll be able to play with the new Dragon Ball FighterZ characters starting tomorrow on May 31.
