Rumor: Pokemon Switch Leak Reveals Game Name, Pikachu and Eevee Focus

An alleged Pokemon Switch leak has potentially outed the name of the upcoming RPG, with a logo for the game reportedly surfacing online. Though Nintendo has yet to reveal any substantial information regarding the upcoming releases, the most recent leak suggests that it will be titled Pokemon Let’s GO! and will prominently feature Pikachu and Eevee.

The Pokemon Switch logo, which can be viewed below, reads ‘Pokemon Let’s GO! Pikachu‘ when translated from Japanese. The Pixelpar Twitter account, which has been teasing Pokemon Switch announcements for a while now, has also been dropping hints regarding Pikachu and Eevee’s prominence in the RPG.

To add more fuel to the fire, Nintendo and Game Freak have also been dropping some subtle clues that may point towards this leak being legitimate. Last year, Nintendo launched the ‘Project Eevee‘ Twitter account, which solely focuses on the floppy-eared Pokemon. A recent tweet from Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda also featured Pikachu and Eevee plushies, alongside a Pikachu doll wearing a Luigi costume, potentially in a sly nod towards Pokemon Let’s GO!

Though it should be taken with a huge heap of salt considering the source, a message on 4chan from an alleged Pokemon insider suggested that Pokémon Let’s GO! Pikachu Edition and Pokémon Let’s GO! Eevee Edition would launch this fall.

If these rumors are to be believed, it seems as though Pokemon Switch could follow in Pokemon GO‘s footsteps in some capacity. We’re not entirely sure how Game Freak would bring Pokemon GO‘s augmented reality Pokemon-catching to the Nintendo Switch, though if this is to be the case, veteran Pokemon fans may feel a little disappointed that they wouldn’t be receiving a straight-up sequel to the game’s hugely successful portable console games. We’ll likely find out much more during the Nintendo Direct at E3 2018.
