Rumor: Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Switch Version Sold by GameStop

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Switch is being sold by GameStop, with the retailer reportedly putting Nintendo Switch versions of Black Ops 4 on display in its stores. Thus far no Switch port has been announced, though with the game’s official reveal set to take place later this week, many believe that this indicates the FPS will make its way to the Nintendo console.

The display cases were shared on Twitter by user AUGMC, showing the Call of Duty Black Ops 4 logo on a Nintendo Switch display case. The Switch wasn’t among the list of Black Ops 4‘s confirmed platforms, with it currently only set to release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. However, this photo suggests that Treyarch will be bringing the game to the Switch after all.

It’s difficult to verify the legitimacy of the above image, though it certainly appears to show Black Ops 4 in GameStop’s Switch section. It seems unusual that Activision wouldn’t confirm the Switch as a platform ahead of its reveal, though maybe developer Treyarch has something different in store for the home/handheld console hybrid?

Of course, this could just be a case of a GameStop employee leading the internet into believing an elaborate hoax. We’ll receive more details when Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is officially revealed on May 17th, with Activision set to hold a live streamed event for the game’s debut. Until then, Nintendo Switch owners should keep their eyes and ears peeled.
