Captain Scarlett DLC Raids Borderlands 2 Next Week

In a day and age where post-release content is rampant you shouldn't be surprised to see substantial DLC packages released one week after another, and that's exactly the case for Borderlands 2.

Yesterday's file leaks of an additional DLC release for Borderlands 2 have now been backed by an announcement from Gearbox Software. The DLC is called Captain Scarlet and Her Pirate's Booty—clever name, I must say—and includes more than just a new character this time around. Instead, a new area will come bundled with Captain Scarlett, a spunky-looking female pirate.

The new area isn't rich with coves full of drunk pirates and wooden pirate ships as you might imagine given the title, and Gearbox's Randy Pitchford described it as the following when speaking to Associated Press:

You can sense the pirate theme across the landscape, even though there’s no water. It’s all dried up. It feels more like Tatooine than an ocean.

It's an interesting take on the formula, and it should fit right into the hands of Borderlands 2 which is famous in the gaming world for its satisfying loot and whimsical humor.

Look out for this Captain Scarlet and Her Pirate's Booty when it releases on October 16 for all platforms.
