Starlord dance scene from Guardians of the Galaxy ft. Fortnite's dancing Thanos

Fortnite’s Dancing Thanos is Being Added to Marvel Movies

The addition of Thanos in Fortnite: Battle Royale has taken the internet by storm. The sudden and unexpected crossover event has really excited both fans of Fortnite and the MCU alike. So much so, that some of the more creative ones have started editing Fortnite‘s dancing Thanos into scenes from the Marvel movies.

The limited-time mode allows players to get their hands on the Infinity Gauntlet and become Thanos, charging around and reigning destruction on Fortnite‘s map. But all of the regular emotes of standard Fortnite character models are still available to whoever is in control of the super-powerful titan. This, of course, means that Thanos can get down and boogie whenever he so pleases. The next logical conclusion was for a handful of video editors to grab footage of Fortnite‘s dancing Thanos and splice him into both very fitting and wholly unsuitable scenes from the MCU movies.

Despite dancing being the primary focus of everyone’s collective joy, it isn’t the only emote to feature in much of the fan content. We can see in this by-now iconic scene of the Avengers stood in the middle of New York City, ready to face Loki’s invasion head-on, but now Thanos is there. Just… eating some popcorn, and absorbing the scenery.

There’s also Thanos making a surprise bonus appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy, joining Starlord in his groovy attempt to distract Ronin for long enough to thwart his plans. It’s almost syncronised enough that it just about works, and it doesn’t really get old to see the infinity-fisted ruler of the universe treading ground like a cybergoth in an underpass.

It’s always fascinating to see what fans of different games, movies, and TV shows latch onto, and what becomes the next big meme. The explosion of Fortnite‘s dancing Thanos, in particular, is quite impressive for a limited-time event that came almost out of nowhere.
