Retro City Rampage Finally Releases October 9

VBlank's Retro City Rampage, a retro-styled parody Grand Theft Auto and all things good in the video game world, has been in the works for what feels like forever. Daniel's preview of the title was posted in June… of last year. The image above was from before Fall 2010. And technically, it started as a homebrew project since 2002. (I was just out of high school then… damn, I just made myself feel old.)

So it comes to our surprise that VBlank has announced that Retro City Rampage will be available in just four days on October 9 in North America for PS3, Vita, and PC. It's not exactly the best day to pick, as both Dishonored and XCOM: Enemy Unknown are arriving then, but at this point any release date is a gift.

For $14.99, you will get one copy for both PS3 and Vita (yep, you read that right), or one PC version available on Steam, GOG, and VBlank's home site. In fact, if you purchase it off his site, you'll get a free download code for Steam or GOG.com at no additional cost. Wahoo!

Retro City Rampage will also make it to European shores later this month, and WiiWare and XBLA will arrive later this year. Let's hope this doesn't get delayed, eh?
