BioWare announced the Mass Effect Trilogy just last week, but no word of the games' DLC was mentioned. Many have speculated that the DLC will not be included, and that's partially true. EA confirmed in writing what DLC or aspects, rather, of DLC will be included in the trilogy for PC and Xbox 360.
What DLC is included in the Mass Effect Trilogy?
- On PC, Mass Effect will include Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station on disk. For Mass Effect 2, Cerberus Network will be included which features Zaeed – The Price of Revenge, The Firewalker Pack, Cerberus Assault Gear, Arc Projector heavy weapon, and Normandy Crash site mission. For Mass Effect 3, Online Pass will be included granting players access to co-op multiplayer.
- On Xbox 360, Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station are not included with Mass Effect, however they are available as stand-alone downloads through Xbox LIVE. For Mass Effect 2, Cerberus Network will be included and Online Pass will be included for Mass Effect 3.
- Information on PlayStation 3 DLC will be available soon.
Can't help but notice that Mass Effect 2 will not include two of the most important DLC, Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival. I also can't help but notice that there's no specific mention of the Extended Cut Ending for Mass Effect 3, which will come with the Wii U's release of the game. Surely that's included, they just didn't want to highlight it for redundancy's sake? Maybe?
If you're a newcomer to the series, looks like you'll be paying for the DLC like the rest of us already have. Considering that all three games will sell for the price of one original game, newcomers are still getting a hefty bargain.
