Metal Gear Survive Bombs in UK Sales Chart

Metal Gear Survive failed to break the top 5 in its first week on sale in the UK, with Konami’s latest Metal Gear game charting behind Monster Hunter World and EA Sports UFC 3.

Though we rated Metal Gear Survive highly in our review, the game certainly wasn’t without its detractors when it launched this week, and it seems the first post-Kojima Metal Gear failed to reach a sizeable audience.

In Chart-Track‘s UK sales chart, Metal Gear Survive charted behind FIFA 18, Grand Theft Auto 5, Call of Duty WW2, Monster Hunter World, and EA Sports UFC 3. The game sold 85 percent fewer copies than fellow Metal Gear spin-off Metal Gear Rising, indicating that it may be dead on arrival in the region.

The top 10 can be viewed below:

01 (01) FIFA 18 (EA SPORTS)

02 (03) GRAND THEFT AUTO V (ROCKSTAR)

03 (08) CALL OF DUTY: WWII (ACTIVISION)

04 (04) MONSTER HUNTER: WORLD (CAPCOM)

05 (06) EA SPORTS UFC 3 (EA SPORTS)

06 (NE) METAL GEAR SURVIVE (KONAMI)

07 (07) SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS (SONY COMPUTER ENT.)

08 (09) MARIO KART 8 DELUXE (NINTENDO)

09 (12) SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY (NINTENDO)

10 (10) ASSASSIN’S CREED ORIGINS (UBISOFT)

There is no word yet on how much the game has sold on Steam, so its PC sales could well favorably improve its overall total, though things aren’t looking good from this vantage point.
