UPDATE: Burnout Paradise Remastered has now been revealed for the PS4 and Xbox One. The game is set to release on March 16th for both consoles. Watch the brand new trailer below:
Get ready to start your engines (again). Burnout Paradise’s long-rumored remaster has surfaced once more with a release date. This time, though, it comes from a batch of seemingly legitimate leaks.
According to a post on Reddit which shows a snippet of a PlayStation poster, Burnout Paradise Remastered is out on March 16th. The poster confirms the date, though the front cover looks particularly janky, given the official box art of the games surrounding it. It’s either a rushed placeholder or an amateurish Photoshop job. Here’s hoping for the former.
However, there is hope for those who want to do donuts and burn some rubber where the grass is green and the girls are pretty. Prolific Twitter leaker lifelower (who has previous with revealing Halo Wars 2 and The Bioshock Collection) has also unearthed Asian listings for the game, with a digital and physical release both being mooted as PS4 and Xbox One entries. That would chime with the poster featuring Burnout Paradise Remastered, signifying this isn’t a digital download-only deal, and it’s coming to Sony’s console.
If these whispers are true, EA are cutting it fine with the release date. There’s only 24 days to go before we (potentially) go on down to the Paradise City for a second time. The first rumour surrounding the 2008 game dropped in January, and things have been silent ever since. Burnout Paradise Remastered would, interestingly, be EA’s first remaster since, get this, Medal of Honor: Frontline HD back in 2010. Might it beckon in a new age of EA remasters? Honestly, right now I’m just thinking about smashing billboards and writing off sports cars. Let’s start with that.
