The Shadow of the Colossus sales figures are in, and it’s clear that the game has been a huge success. In the UK charts, which is compiled by Chart-Track and only includes physical sales, the game claimed the top spot, amassing sales which were up 73 percent over the original PS2 version (via Eurogamer).
EA Sports UFC 3 maintained its spot in second place, while Monster Hunter: World dropped down from first to third. FIFA 18 remains at fourth, while the unkillable GTA V rocks fifth.

A beastly performance for Shadow of the Colossus in the UK. As more sales figures are revealed across the world, we’ll learn how the game has performed globally.
Clearly, remasters are still wanted by gamers. While new IPs try and fail in a very competitive market, we see nostalgia become a safe haven for those wanted to ensure success, without taking too much risk. I’m certain we’ll be seeing more and more remasters and remakes popping up over the next few years, and I’m hoping that Bluepoint Games is behind a great deal of them. (We already know the team is hard at work on “another classic.”)
