Metal Gear Survive Second Beta Coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One Next Week

Konami has announced another beta for Metal Gear Survive, which will be running from February 16th to February 18th, less than a week before the game officially launches.

The first beta for Metal Gear Survive arrived back in January but that was exclusively for PS4 and Xbox One players. This time around the beta will be coming to the PC alongside the PS4 and Xbox One, so PC players will have a chance at trying out the game before the official release.

The beta will feature three playable missions across two maps with up to four players in co-op mode. There will also be special missions every day throughout the beta period. If the player manages to finish creating their character, they are entitled to receive a FOXHOUND nameplate, Metal Gear Rex headgear, and a bandana. All of these are accessories that players can equip on their created avatar, which will stay in their inventory even in the upcoming full game release.

PS4 and Xbox One players will not need to re-download if they still have the first beta installed on their console. The patch for the second beta will then automatically download. Internet connection will still be required for the beta. Keep in mind that save data will not be transferable to the full game.

Metal Gear Survive is the first installment of the Metal Gear franchise developed by Konami without the involvement of Hideo Kojima, who departed the company back in 2015. Taking place between the events of Metal Gear V: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain, the remaining soldiers of the Militaires Sans Frontieres (Soldiers Without Borders) find themselves transported by a wormhole to an alternate reality infested with zombie-like creatures. Konami has stated before that the game will require a constant internet connection to be playable and contains microtransactions.
