Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak Event Details Revealed, New Operators Teased

The first in a series of planned content updates for Year Three of Rainbow Six Siege will be coming soon to players on the PS4. Operation Chimera will be featuring two new Operators from French and Russian counter-terrorism units, which will arrive with their own unique loadouts and special gadgets suited for a variety of tactical scenarios in a Rainbow Six Siege match.

What sets these Operators apart is that they are biohazard specialists, which is an apt choice considering Operation Chimera will also be featuring a new cooperative event called Outbreak. These new Operators will join Smoke, Ying, Buck, Kapkan, Ash, Doc, Tachanka, Glaz and the Recruit in a mission to quarantine an alien parasite and prevent it from turning the locals into grotesque Apex creatures.

Outbreak is a free four-week event that begins on March 6, where a team consisting of three Operators will traverse three vast maps with a choice of two difficulty settings, Normal and Pandemic. Pandemic will be harder than Normal as the enemies will dish out more damage and friendly fire will be switched on by default.

Additionally, Ubisoft has revealed that players will be getting two new counter-terrorism unit Operators and a new map from Italy in Season 2 as well as two new Operators from the UK and the USA respectively along with a reworked existing map in Season 3. Later this year, Season 4 will introduce two Operators from Morocco and a new Moroccan map.

Season Pass owners will be delighted to know that they will be receiving not only a seven-day early access to all new Operators but also exclusive cosmetic items, renown and alpha pack boosters, a ten percent discount in the store and 600 R6 credits.

PS Plus subscribers who have never experienced Rainbow Six Siege will have a chance to do so when the Rainbow Six Siege Free Weekend starts on February 15 at 5 AM PT/8 AM ET. All progress will be kept for players who decide to purchase the game after the Free Weekend ends.
