Resident Evil 2 Remake Announcement Teased for This Week

New information regarding Resident Evil 2 Remake could be debuted this week, with Capcom teasing its fans with a mysterious image today.

Capcom posted the following tweet earlier today, with the developer’s following picking the photo apart:

The tweet came from Capcom’s R&D dev 1 team, which is responsible for the development of the upcoming game. The studio noted that its team is currently in the US, and with the 20th anniversary of Resident Evil 2 landing on January 21st, this feels a little too coincidental.

As many have pointed out, the object in the left-hand side image appears to be a typewriter, the method of saving in the old Resident Evil games. A finger can also be seen on the window sill, similar to the “dummy finger” that could be found in Resident Evil 7. The official Resident Evil Twitter account has also changed its profile image to one featuring the old Resident Evil logo, as opposed to the one used for the latest entry in the series.

Take a look at the new profile image below:

Some have speculated that the inclusion of the dummy finger could mean that Resident Evil 2 Remake will utilize Resident Evil 7‘s engine, though none of these rumors have been confirmed by Capcom. Looks like we’ll have to wait until Sunday to see if the developer has anything up its sleeve.
