Resident Evil 7 Not a Hero DLC Update

Resident Evil 7 Update 1.05 Adds Support for Not a Hero and End of Zoe

Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition releases tomorrow and with it comes two new DLC. End of Zoe and the delayed Not a Hero will debut with new locations and some resolution to plotlines that weren’t resolved in the base game. To get the game ready for the new DLC Capcom has released the RE7 update 1.05 patch, which is available right now on

Resident Evil 7 Update 1.05 Download Size

The new patch isn’t too hefty. Resident Evil update 1.05 weighs in at 3.15 GB on PS4, 1.19 GB on Xbox One, and around 800 MB on PC. It’s not clear whether this is just data to get the game ready to download the new DLC or if the data includes Not a Hero or End of Zoe. With the small download size, I imagine you’ll still have to go download the new chapters when they release.

You shouldn’t have to do anything special to start downloading the new patch. Just have Resident Evil 7 installed and it should download and install automatically.

Resident Evil 7 Update 1.05 Patch Notes

Like most of RE7’s updates, the patch notes don’t go into a lot of detail on what bugs this fixes. The full patch notes are:

  • Now supports free additional chapter: -Not a Hero
  • Now supports additional chapter: -End of Zoe
  • New trophies added
  • Changed Virtual Surround feature to Yamaha ViReal
  • Fixed certain bugs and issues

Even though 1.05 gets the game ready for the new DLC, you’re not going to notice any apparent changes just yet. The Extra Content and More menus don’t have anything added to them yet.

The new Resident Evil 7 DLC will be out very soon. You should be able to play it tomorrow, December 12 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
