Bridge Constructor Portal is Valve’s Unexpected New Venture

Bridge Constructor Portal is on its way, with the Portal license being handed over to Headup Games in a thoroughly unexpected new venture for the company.

The new bridge building game, which will be making its way to Windows, MacOS, Linux and mobile devices this year, with console versions to follow in 2018. It will task players with guiding Aperture Science vehicles through various levels in the facility, and even appears to feature the return of the series’ infamous antagonist GLaDOS.

In a press release, Headup Games said:”For the last year we’ve been secretly working in our underground labs on the next iteration of the million-selling Bridge Constructor series. This new stand-alone title will release on PC, MacOS, Linux, mobile devices, and console, and fully embraces the Portal license, one of the most beloved video game franchises of the last decade.”

Fans have been waiting for Portal 3 for years, but Valve seemingly aren’t behind the development of Bridge Constructor Portal aside from giving the go-ahead for the use of their license. According to Headup, the game will “blend the laws of physical construction and Aperture technology straight from the Aperture Laboratories into a refreshing game experience that will entertain fans of both franchises.”
