It’s been 14 years since the last Road Rash game was released. Even then, it wasn’t a new game at all, but the 2003 port of Road Rash: Jailbreak for the Game Boy Advance. That sixth entry in the motorcycle mayhem series was first released in 2000 for the original PlayStation.
Ever since its inception on the SEGA Genesis in 1991 and its abrupt end in 2003, there haven’t been many games at all outside of the Burnout franchise – also now on hiatus – that has filled the gap that fans have greatly missed ever. Though EA – publisher of both series – has been rumored several times to be making a new Road Rash, nothing came of it.
That is until now. There have been many lost franchises that have been revived through dedicated fans, and Road Redemption is the latest to do that. The spiritual successor to Road Rash, Road Redemption is a modern take on the franchise.

You play as the leader of your very own devious motorcycle gang and lead them across the country, complete with various modes like races, assassinations, robberies, and challenges to complete. The singleplayer campaign has you and your gang on the search for a mysterious assassin with a $15 million bounty on their head.
Though it is singleplayer, you also have the option to complete the entire Road Redemption campaign in four player online or local co-op, using weapons from blunt pipes to sharp machetes. Everything including your character, bike, and weapons are upgradable through a “massive” skill tree.
Road Redemption has been in-development for four years and was already available through early access on Steam, but it is now available today as a full retail release for $19.99.
