For all of our niche visual novel and anime fans out there, you’ll be happy to know that PQube, the publishers of the most recent Science Adventure games, are bringing Chaos;Child to the West next month.
This is the same visual novel series that brought the beloved and widely acclaimed Steins;Gate to change the minds of gamers and anime fans everywhere. For those that don’t know, the Science Adventure franchise is composed of various smaller series like Steins;Gate and Chaos;Head.
Much like last year’s Steins;Gate 0 is a pseudo-sequel to the original, Chaos;Child is the follow-up to the much more divisive Chaos;Head. And like its predecessors, it’s already had an anime adaptation of its main scenario (which we recommend watching) that aired earlier this year in both Japanese and English.

No matter how great the anime is, fans will know that it does not have the time or budget to explore all of the various paths and endings that the game has. For those that are interested in seeing through all of the different versions of the story, Chaos;Child will be releasing first in Europe on October 13th.
It will arrive in North America a little later – in opposition to how most game releases are – on October 24th. The game will be available for both PS4 and Vita, allowing you to choose between your preferred method of play.
Chaos;Child tells the story of Takuru, an orphaned child that becomes entangled in a series of horrific murders that seem to involve himself, his friends, and adopted family. The game’s mechanics deal with delusions and whether or not you believe everything that you see.
Your choices to embrace the delusions or stick with reality affect the path that you go on during the story and what ending it will result in. Like other PS4 and Vita releases, it will be available for $59.99 and $39.99 respectively.
