This is PUBG’s Upcoming Desert Map [Gamescom 2017]

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is making a big scene at Gamescom this year. Not only are there more than a dozen demo stations on the show floor, but a significant tournament is being held with a prize pool of $350,000.

To chat about PUBG‘s success and future, developer Bluehole host a keynote today. During the talk the studio confirmed the game’s official launch later this year, briefly spoke about its eSports ambitions, and most importantly showed off a highly anticipated new map.

Currently unnamed, the “desert map” will be the first addition to PUBG‘s map list since its launch earlier this year. The map features a dense city with tall structures that invite indoor firefights. You can see it below:

The structure of the map is a huge deviation from the single Russian level currently available to players, which is expansive with an emphasis on outdoor exploration and vehicles.

Bluehole stated that the map will be added “soon” following patches that will address common issues in PUBG, including desync and game crashes.

PUBG is currently 2017’s best-selling game with over eight million copies sold.  It will soon be ported to Xbox One where it will  be featured as part of a significant Microsoft marketing campaign.
