Dance All Night With This New Bushel of Persona Games

If the prospect of new spinoffs from the Persona series excites you, there’s something awesome coming down the line. A few things, actually. First is the upcoming Persona Q2, a sequel for Nintendo 3DS meant as a follow-up to Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, which debuted back in 2014. In addition, Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night are making their way to us, both follow-ups to the excellent Persona 4: Dancing All Night. Both are coming in spring 2018, just in case you needed some time to brush up on your dance moves.

Persona Q2 wasn’t given very much information for us to obsess over and analyze, but it’s safe to say from the teaser image it will include Persona 5 characters. Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth involved characters from both Persona 3 and Persona 4, so it’s not immediately apparent if this adventure will include only Persona 5 characters or some kind of amalgam of other personalities.

Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night are the star attractions here by far, at least in terms of what’s already been shared with us. Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night looks like a hoot, giving the typically serious characters a chance to bust a move.

It’s also great to finally see my favorite Persona game getting more love, especially going in with the knowledge that Persona 4: Dancing All Night had both a gripping story and excellent music to dance to. Oh, and all the costumes! They’re just a small part of the bigger package, but mostly it’s awesome that Persona 3 is getting more of the love it deserves

Persona 5: Dancing Star Night looks like an excellent riff on the new cast of Persona 5, and watching them live it up on the dance floor is awesome. Both trailers are pretty short, so we’re not learning a whole lot about the game beyond “hey guys, these are dancing games” but we know there’s plenty to look forward to.

Any addition to the Persona universe is totally fine with me, though. Hopefully we’ll know more in the coming months. For now, we can keep salivating over the trailers.
