GLaDOS Is Just F***ing With Us

You know, I was at a point this weekend where I was just bored enough, just eager enough, and just captivated enough by Valve's Portal 2 ARG that I would have dropped the cash on one of the Potato Sack games. What kept me from it? Well, my wallet's a little dry.

I watched all weekend to see… not a whole lot of change. I don't understand what the point of all this mess is. As of writing, aperturescience.com/glados@home continues to place Portal 2's (supposedly Steam) release at 12:05 AM Tuesday morning.

I'm aware of the fact that Steam usually allows players to access their preordered games at about 9 AM the day of release. I'm also aware that 12:05 AM is quite a few hours earlier than that normal release window. I still can't help but feel like all those gamers who've been running their CPUs non-stop have been wasting their time.

Another item of note: what's up with the potato counter counting down? Remember the experiment you did in [insert elementary school here]? The one with the potato powered light bulb? Well at 10:50 this morning:

Engaging starch-based power cells

We'll keep you posted throughout the day on the events at Aperture Science.
