Need For Speed Payback Announced, Gets First Trailer

After a 2-year absence, Need for Speed is racing back into the gaming world in 2017. EA has announced today that the series’ next title, Need for Speed Payback, will launch on Nov. 10, 2017 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Ghost Games, developer of 2015’s Need for Speed, has returned to develop Need for Speed Payback in partnership with EA as its publisher. In a plot fit for a Ghost Recon game, this need for speed title will allow you to play as three different characters “reunited by a quest for vengeance against The House, a nefarious cartel that rules the city’s casinos, criminals and cops,” according to a press release. You can watch the trailer here:

In what is becoming common practice for EA games, Need for Speed Payback will have a free 10-hour trial for EA Access and Origin Access members, who will also receive a 10-percent discount on any digital version of the game.

EA promises “the deepest customization from the series,” allowing people to craft their own ride, or fix up a derelict vehicle, according to the release. More than that, pre-ordering Need For Speed Payback will earn players the Platinum Car Pack, which includes five custom cars with Platinum Blue tire smoke. The cars included with pre-order are as follows.

  • Nissan 350Z 2008

  • Chevrolet Camaro SS 1967

  • Dodge Charger R/T 1969

  • Ford F-150 Raptor 2016

  • Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 2016

In addition to that, players can purchase the Need For Speed Payback Deluxe Edition to get access to the game three days early, along with “along with exclusive customization items such as the Deluxe Edition license plate and NOS color, in-game discounts, Rep bonuses, everything the Platinum Car Pack has to offer, and more,” according to the release.
