Super Smash Bros. Development Studio Closed

The studio in charge of Super Smash Bros. and led by Masahiro Sakurai has been shuttered. The site lists a closing date of June 30th with the company's website to go dark on July 31st.

Owned primarily by Nintendo, Project Sora has developed the Super Smash Bros. series and most recently Kid Icarus: Uprising for the Nintendo 3DS. When Nintendo revealed that Namco Bandai would be developing the next Smash Bros. game, it was presumed that Project Sora was or would be working on something.

Did Kid Icarus: Uprising sink the studio? Will Masahiro Sakurai remain with Nintendo after the next Smash Bros? We'll be sure to report more as it happens.
