Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Introduces The Villain

The latest trailer from Activision and Treyarch for Black Ops II introduces the antagonist, Raul Menendez. In a joint effort by Treyarch and Dark Knight scribe David S. Goyer, Menendez is meant to be a villain on par with The Dark Knight's Joker.

In an interview before E3, Director David Anthony described Menendez as:

a multidimensional human being. That was the first place we wanted to start. We wanted players to understand the emotional conflict at the core of Menendez's actions, so we have players meet Raul Menendez as Alex Mason in the late 80s.

As interesting as a new evil might be, the introduction of actual choices in the campaign make Black Ops II a much more enticing experience in my mind. Of course, I suck at the multiplayer side of things, so I would feel that way.
