Phantasy Star Online 2 Heads West In 2013

SEGA announced today that Phantasy Star Online 2, a free-to-play rebirth of the now classic Dreamcast MMO, will be headed west next year. The game is currently in beta in Japan and has been well-received, despite the to-be-expected bugs and pre-launch issues.

In the press release, SEGA VP of Digital Business Chris Olson said:

Phantasy Star Online was a revolutionary game when it was released, and we want to make sure that its successor in the series is every bit as ambitious. We look forward to introducing Phantasy Star Online 2's unique, easy-to-access multiplayer action to the rest of the world next year!

If you're really antsy and impatient, you can actually log on to the Japanese PSO2 experience right now. You'll just have to wade through a lot of foreign text and some impatient Japanese gamers.
