Yakuza 5 Screenshots Revealed, Don’t Mess With The Cabbie

The official Japanese website for Yakuza 5 has revealed a strong spread of smaller-sized screenshots that speak a thousand words of where the next installment in the epic will go.

Fitting for the numeral in its title, Yakuza 5 will feature five protagonists (as Yakuza 4 featured four). Well-worn mainstay hero Kazuma Kiryu has become a cabbie, who if the screenshots have anything to say, will still have run-ins with people who have no idea who he is. Nothing like ignorance as an excuse to beat down the younger generation.

Saejima has returned to prison and has shaved off all his hair, but will likely break out if the plot has anything to say about it. Akiyama, or "Sexiyama" as he's known by fans, still lounges about. Meanwhile, newcomer Shinada seems to a baseball player for the Nagoya Wyverns and will likely gets himself caught in the middle of a yakuza scheme. Haruka, now a fledgling teenager, seems ready for a battle of her own.

Yakuza 5 will likewise upgrade the number of environments, adding Nagoya and Sapporo to the usual suspects of Kamurocho, Fukuoka, and Osaka.

Yakuza 5 has no release date yet for the United States, but as one of the best franchises from Sega, it very well should.
