Mike Hayes, European and US CEO for Sega, recently announced that he will leave the company later this year. His European duties will be passed to Jurgen Post, the current COO for Europe. No word on who will take over the reins in the US.
Naoya Tsurumi, president and representative director of Sega, offered these kind words about Hayes' departure:
Mike has achieved a huge amount during his time at Sega, and we thank him for the amazing things he has accomplished.
Mike is a great character and very passionate about the industry. He helped steer the extraordinary growth of Sega and has built an exceptional team of professionals that will stand us in good stead for the future.
Hayes isn't leaving Sega entirely. He will keep an advisory role with the company while he ventures into both executive and non-executive roles around the gaming industry. Hayes has been with Sega since 2004.
