The Final Hours of Mass Effect 3 Reveals First-Person Shooter Mass Effect

You might be happy, or completely pissed with the way Mass Effect 3 turned out. You might also be "meh." There's a whole range of emotions you could be going through in regards to Mass Effect 3. Nothing would surprise us at this point.

Although it might surprise you to know that BioWare Montreal was developing a competitive multiplayer first-person shooter spinoff titled Mass Effect Team Assault in 2010 before redirecting that effort towards the now stellar Mass Effect 3 multiplayer mode.

GameTrailers and SpikeTV's Geoff Keighley reports:

The goal was simple, to create a standalone multiplayer experience in the Mass Effect universe that would mix the play styles of Unreal Tournament and Battlefield 1943—and likely be released as a downloadable game.
