Are you excited for Guild Wars 2? If not, it's probably because you don't have a gaming PC. Well that's no longer a concern, because it's coming to consoles.
During the NCSoft earnings call today it was announced that Guild Wars 2 will be releasing on consoles. The particulars, including a release date or supported platforms, haven't been released. However, it was stated that the console release will come sometime after the PC launch, which if it's anything like Final Fantasy XIV then we'll have gray hairs by the time it arrives. Whether it'll be for current-generation consoles or the inevitable new hardware is yet to be determined.
Guild Wars 2 was previously one of the most exciting PC-exclusives of the near future. After years of MMOs coming and going, NCSoft has finally got a game to deliver that not only has received overwhelmingly positive marks from those who have played it early, but requires no subscription to play. No more fumbling around with credit cards and worry about running out of gametime. Oh, and there is a slider for breast size, so you know the game will be good.
Now that both Diablo III and Guild Wars 2 are multi-platform, it's safe to say that platform-exclusives are becoming a thing of the past.
