Go ahead and click that image up above. In the new page that opens, check out the URL slug. What's it say? It says Skyrim. But as you can see the winner of the Community Choice Game of the Year is definitely not Skyrim. It was pretty stupid of us to just assume, but we considered it a safe bet. And that image looked a lot more Skyrim-y before.

But enough about Skyrim. Dark Souls is the winner. It's an unforgiving game, and all you sadists love that, I guess. It's difficult yes, but that does not detract from the depth of the experience the game provides.

After a jaw-dropping upset having Portal 2 beating out… we won't even bother saying the name again, Dark Souls managed to best Batman: Arkham City and Portal 2. It was close. Too close, even. The nailbiter ended with Dark Souls taking the crown with 22 votes. Portal 2 came next with 21 votes. And Batman: Arkham City wasn't far behind with 19 votes.

Surprised? We sure were.
