If Super Mario 3D Land got the holiday 3DS sales started, Mario Kart 7 drove them home (no need to jump down my throat, I already feel epically terrible about that pun). MK7 took a step back from the divisive Mario Kart Wii to more resemble the Mario Kart of yore, with less of an emphasis on changing the tried-and-true formula and more on delivering the best of what made the series fun in the first place: creative tracks, frantic never-say-never racing excitement, and unparalleled multi-player made all the sweeter by the game’s expansive and flawless online matchmaking system and global player communities.
