Get PlayStation Vita A Week Early With First Edition Bundle

Carbonatix Pre-Player Loader

As of this morning, I had three PlayStation Vitas on pre-order at various places. I did this to make sure I avoid any issue with short supply and ensure I get mine as early as possible. But Sony has announced a new First Edition PlayStation Vita Bundle that lets you get the new handheld a week before everyone else.

Now I have… still three pre-orders, but at least I know one of them guarantees me early access than everyone else.

The PlayStation Vita First Edition Bundle includes a 3G PlayStation Vita, a 4GB memory card (we've got a post on why this is so important coming later today), a limited edition case, and a copy of Little Deviants, which is a great game to show of the Vita's front and rear touch functionality.

The First Edition bundle will be available starting on February 15th, 2012a week before the PlayStation Vita's official release date for un-bundled versions.

What do you think of this marketing strategy? I don't recall anything like this before.
