Bioware Officially Details Mass Effect 3’s Multiplayer

So let's get the facts straight before we ask you about your own thoughts on Mass Effect 3's newly revealed multiplayer modes. Staffers over at the Bioware forums took to their particular platform to detail Mass Effect 3's new additions and hopefully assuage some of your fears.

Mass Effect 3 will feature 4 player co-op multiplayer. With friends in tow, you'll be able to engage in multiplayer-specific missions over Xbox Live, PSN, and via the good ol' internet on PC. You'll choose from classes and races and combine abilities and weapons to fight off enemies in "key territories." Apparently playing this multiplayer mode successfully will result in positive effects on the outcome in single-player.

Mass Effect 3: Galaxy at War is a system allowing players to fight the galactic war on multiple platforms. This will get detailed further at a later date, but Bioware has confirmed that Galaxy at War will effect Mass Effect 3's overall "Galactic Readiness" level. This measures Commander Shepard's "ability to apply every possible asset – people, weapons, resources, armies, fleets – in the final battle against the Reapers."

You know what this means don't you? Mining on your iPhone. I'm calling it.

There's a FAQ in the Bioware forums you should read. Wait wait! Quick groaning!
