You may have heard that the original Bayonetta has made its way to PC today, but what if you want to play its sequel there too? You've got options with emulation, but otherwise, your lust for Bayonetta 2 on PC, for now, will leave you SOL. Luckily, this may not remain the case permanently, as Bayonetta developer PlatinumGames appears to have a healthy attitude about PC ports given the opportunity.
Speaking with PC Gamer, a Platinum spokesperson issued some promising remarks regarding the company's titles arriving on PC. Excerpts are below.
However, most third party publishers nowadays realize the PC should not be ignored, so I believe we should be able to become more actively involved in the PC market from here on out. If it were up to us, we’d port all of our games to PC, but it all depends on the publishers.
Elsewhere, the spokesperson elaborated, noting that the process of porting the Xbox 360 version of Bayonetta to Wii U helped Platinum develop skills and eventually bring the title to PC much more easily. It's unclear if these remarks are a subtle bid to publishers for aid with PC ports or if they simply express the studio's views offhand, but there's little doubt that plenty of Platinum's titles would benefit greatly from the PC treatment.
I'd like to see MadWorld brought back given its 480p limitations on Wii, though it's certainly possible other titles would place higher on the list, especially with publishers seeking to profit from the situation. Regardless, Bayonetta is available on Steam now for $19.99, so if you haven't played it the opportunity to do so has never been more affordable.
