Deus Ex: Human Revolution Gets A Release Date

When I went hands-on with Deus Ex: Human Revolution I reacted to what I saw with the typical first-person shooter instincts. That was, unfortunately, the wrong way to do things.

When I took a step back to reevaluate what I was trying to accomplish in the game, I realized that it was more Fallout 3 than it was Call of Duty. It practically felt like a turn based shooter. Everything I did required deliberate planning and a flow between each step. Throw a box to the left, run to the right, silently take out one guy, mow down the others while they're closely grouped together.

Square Enix has revealed exactly when you'll get your hands on the thinking-man's shooter. Deus Ex: Human Revolution will land on store shelves on August 23rd.

That could be an amazing time for Deus Ex: Human Revolution to drop. Batman: Arkham Asylum could have been swept away by the rest of the holiday season rush had it not been for its late August release date. Hopefully DEHR will get enough attention and time to be the hit it seems to be.
