Mass Effect: Andromeda Official Release Date Announced

It looks like that false rumor that got spread around about Mass Effect: Andromeda's release date was wrong after all … by 10 days.

While no one really trusted the Xbox Rewards website that said Andromeda would release on March 31st (mostly because it was demonstrably wrong on other release dates it supposedly predicted), BioWare set the record straight today, announcing a release date of March 21, 2017 for their long-awaited space dating simulator action role-playing game.

In a long blog post, Aaryn Flyn, general manager of BioWare officially announced the date, saying "we appreciate your patience" and even our "lack of patience in some instances."

Of course, after announcing Mass Effect: Andromeda at E3 2015, we've all been wondering when it would come out and been largely stonewalled for details by BioWare. It seems Flynn, though, is at least back-handedly thanking us for pushing them to get something out.

Flynn goes on to say that Andromeda is "our most ambitious Mass Effect game to date," and that BioWare developers have already played what they call "the holiday build" of the game. Of course, this does nothing to whet our appetites, but it's good to see the game is progressing.

See you in Andromeda!
