Star Wars Battlefront, Mirrors Edge: Catalyst Coming to EA Access

EA Access, also know as "that other subscription service," has just announced their intention to beef up their library with big-name titles, such as Star Wars Battlefront and Mirror's Edge: Catalyst.

Although no specific timeframe for release into the EA Vault has been announced for these games, they said they would be released "in the coming months."

In the mean time, they're hoping to wet your appetite with "The Throwback Pack," a bundle of six PopCap games, including Bejeweled 2, Bejeweled 3, Feeding Frenzy, Feeding Frenzy 2, Zuma and Heavy Weapon.

While both Battlefront and Mirror's Edge: Catalyst got markedly mixed reviews, we can never expect EA to throw out their heavy hitters on a subscription service that costs annually a mere $30, or half what any of those games originally sold for. It seems EA Access is the equivalent of a movie coming to Netflix. Sure, sometimes it's an all around hit, but an appearance by a relatively new movie on the streaming service usually indicates that it under-performed in one aspect or another, and is now being salvaged.

That being said, if anything will make me give those games a shot, it's being added to a subscription service I already have. Not sure the reverse is true, though.
