Insomniac Games is kickflipping the idea of porting Sunset Overdrive over to PC. Now that the studio has experience on PC with Slow Down, Bull and Song of the Seep, in addition to various titles on Oculus Rift, a user on Twitter asked whether it would be interested in seeing Sunset Overdrive on PC.
Insomniac responded interestingly in a Tweet, saying that they would "love" to and that "it could happen but [the] ball is in Xbox's court on it." The developer repeated the same sentiment again in a response to another user: "We'd love for it to come to PC, though it's up to Xbox on that one."
So then, how likely would Microsoft greenlight a port of Sunset Overdrive to PC? Well, given that the title is an Xbox One-exclusive, that ups the chances by quite a bit. And with Microsoft having announced the Play Anywhere program at the Xbox conference at this year's E3, where they plan on releasing multiple titles on both Xbox One and PC, the prospect is even more likely to happen.
Raising the chances even further, both launch titles Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3 have already been ported over. That said, I wouldn't mind if they made an updated, remastered version of the game once the fabled Xbox Scorpio arrives either.
